About the Opportunity
Our client, is a third generation, family owned Australian transport and logistics company established in 1940's. Specialising in wharf cartage and general freight delivery across metropolitan Melbourne, they are known for their strong values, operational excellence, and people focused culture.

An exciting opportunity is now available for an experienced Human Resources & Payroll Manger to join the team based in Laverton North, VIC. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this role plays a critical part in supporting HR operations, payroll, compliance, and employee relations across Transport, Warehouse, Client Services, and Safety & Compliance teams.
This is a fast-paced, confidential role suited to a proactive HR professional who enjoys being hands-on and working closely with operational leaders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day HR advice and support across the employee lifecycle
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and HR administration
  • Process end-to-end weekly payroll via Tanda, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Support performance management, employee relations, and workplace culture initiatives
  • Maintain accurate HR and payroll records and prepare reports and metrics
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, awards, company policies, and systems processes
Qualifications & Experience
  • Proven experience in HR administration, payroll, or a combined HR/payroll role
  • Strong knowledge of Fair Work legislation, Modern Awards, and payroll compliance
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Experience in transport, logistics, warehousing, or a fast-paced operational environment (preferred)
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
