About the Opportunity Our client, a leading name in the manufacturing sector, is currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join their high-performing team based in Sunshine. This role offers the opportunity to lead preventative and corrective maintenance activities across a busy site while driving improvements in equipment reliability and plant efficiency.
You’ll report directly to the Regional Engineering Manager and work closely with internal teams and external contractors to ensure plant operations run smoothly and safely.

This role offers the opportunity to lead preventative and corrective maintenance activities across a busy site while driving improvements in equipment reliability and plant efficiency.
You’ll report directly to the Regional Engineering Manager and work closely with internal teams and external contractors to ensure plant operations run smoothly and safely.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure plant and equipment are in a safe, operable condition
- Implement and carry out preventative, corrective, and shutdown maintenance
- Troubleshoot equipment and conduct root cause analysis
- Plan and supervise contractor activities, ensuring safe and timely execution
- Identify and drive process improvements for cost, quality, and reliability
- Manage maintenance records and documentation for traceability and compliance (ISO 9001)
- Utilise maintenance software to issue and close out work orders and permits
- Procure maintenance materials and manage spare parts inventory
- Participate in the on-call roster for breakdown and emergency support
- Relevant Trade Certificate (e.g. Fitter, Fitter and Turner, Fitter/Welder) – Required
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Forklift license – Required
- Electrical Disconnect/Reconnect license – Highly Desirable
- Dogman / Rigger license – Desirable
- Fit and able to work in confined spaces and at heights
- Strong English communication skills (written and verbal)
- Victorian Driver’s License – Desirable
