About the Opportunity
We are currently seeking an experienced Warehouse Supervisor – Afternoon Shift to join our client, a third-generation, family-owned transport and logistics business with over 75 years of industry experience. Specialising in containerised, project, and custom freight, this is a fantastic opportunity to step into a hands-on leadership role overseeing yard and warehouse operations across a fast-paced environment.
This is an afternoon shift role, reporting to the Warehouse Manager, where you will be responsible for leading warehouse and yard operations, ensuring safety, compliance, and efficiency at all times.
Your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Supervising and coordinating afternoon shift warehouse and yard operations
  • Overseeing receiving, put away, picking, packing, and dispatch activities
  • Managing container movements, yard flow, and dehire timelines
  • Ensuring compliance with DAFF (biosecurity) and HACCP requirements
  • Maintaining Load Restraint compliance in line with the Load Restraint Guide 2025
  • Leading, training, and supporting warehouse staff, including shift handovers
  • Monitoring inventory accuracy, stock integrity, and warehouse organisation
  • Ensuring equipment is used safely and maintained appropriately
  • Driving a strong safety culture, including toolbox talks and incident management
  • Liaising with transport and internal teams to ensure smooth operations
Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 3–5 years experience in warehouse operations, with supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of Load Restraint requirements (essential)
  • Knowledge of Chain of Responsibility (CoR) legislation
  • Experience with DAFF / biosecurity compliance (desirable)
  • HACCP / food-grade handling experience (desirable)
  • Current LF Forklift Licence (essential)
  • Experience with container handling, yard operations, and non-standard freight
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, manage, and motivate teams
  • High attention to detail with a strong focus on safety and compliance
  • Confident using WMS, scanners, and warehouse systems
  • Practical, hands-on, and solutions-focused approach
