We are partnering with an established passenger transport operator to appoint an experienced Workshop Manager to lead their maintenance operations in Kyneton.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced heavy vehicle professional to take ownership of fleet reliability, workshop performance, and team leadership within a safety-focused transport environment.

 
About the Role
Reporting to the Depot Manager, the Workshop Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the maintenance workshop, ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable servicing, repair, and upkeep of a heavy vehicle fleet.
You will lead a team of maintenance professionals, coordinate workshop activities, drive continuous improvement, and ensure fleet availability meets operational requirements.

 
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate workshop operations, maintenance activities, and daily priorities
  • Manage, coach, and support a team of maintenance personnel
  • Oversee servicing, diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance programs
  • Ensure fleet reliability, compliance, and operational readiness
  • Monitor workshop performance, productivity, and quality standards
  • Manage safety practices and ensure WHS compliance across the workshop
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and fleet documentation
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, processes, and workshop performance
  • Liaise with operations teams to prioritise repairs and minimise vehicle downtime
About You To be successful, you will have:
  • Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology (Heavy Vehicle) or equivalent
  • Proven experience managing or supervising a heavy vehicle workshop environment
  • Strong knowledge of fleet maintenance systems and workshop practices
  • Experience leading, mentoring, and developing maintenance teams
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently while managing competing priorities
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence
  • Current driver’s licence (heavy vehicle experience highly regarded)
